Aonori Slim is a Swiss diet pill that’s mainly sold in France under the name Aonori Minceur. The product is not very popular outside of French-speaking countries so it’s hard to find English sites that have an Aonori Slim review. At the time of writing (Feb 2021), this site appeared to be the first.
Writing the first Aonori Slim review in English was quite a responsibility but it wasn’t as time-involved as most of the other diet pills reviews on this site. Aonori Slim is a simple product that only has one key ingredient. It’s not a particularly exciting diet pill and, although it may offer certain nutritional benefits, Aonori Slim is unlikely to be much help to anyone who is seeking weight loss support.
For reasons that will become clear as you read the review, Aonori Slim is also a diet pill it may be best to avoid.
What Is Aonori Slim?
Aonori slim is a diet pill powered by aonori seaweed. It’s marketed as a fat burner.
A Look at the Company Behind Aonori Slim
Bearing in mind the problems with translation, it was a little challenging to identify the company responsible for manufacturing and distributing Aonori Slim. The product also appears as if it may no longer be in production but a couple of British online stores still have (old stock?) to sell.
Aonori Slim was manufactured by Phyto Avenir Laboratoires. However, the product was originally only distributed via an online store called France Direct Shop. The site no longer lists it among its merchandise.
I haven’t been able to find out much information about Phyto Avenir Laboratoires but information provided by a consumer complaint site based in France suggests the company is based in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The complaint was lodged by a lady who alleges the company took her money but did not send her the product she ordered. Phyto Avenir Laboratoires failed to respond.

The fact that Phyto Avenir Laboratoires did not respond is not confidence-building. The complaint site has a link to the company website. At the time of this review, the site was no longer online and the domain was up for sale.
Aonori Slim: The Promised Results
The two British sites that still appear to have bottles of Aonori Slim to sell, make the same brief claims for the product. The marketing material is the same in every way (word for word).
The main claims are:
- You don’t need to do anything different. No drastic dieting or medicines to take. Just take a few Aonori Slim capsules a day.
- High-strength formula that can help you lose up to 2.2 lbs of excess fat every 16 hours.
Don’t do anything different and lost 2.2 lbs every 16 hours! These people are really laying it on thick. This is 100% BS!
To put things into perspective, if your diet provides 500 fewer calories than your body needs per day, you would burn 1 lb of fat per week. More than two pounds in just 16 hours? Seriously. That’s not going to happen.

How Does Aonori Slim Work (For Weight Loss)?
If you skip forward to the customer review section, you will see Aonori Slim doesn’t appear to work for weight loss. However, the sites selling the product claim the key ingredient provides pancreatic enzymes that “eat” 78-91 percent of the excess fat in adipose cells.
The sites also claim this ability is proven by research from the University of Newcastle. Strangely enough, they don’t provide a link to this ground-breaking study so I tried to find it. I couldn’t. That’s suspicious. Obesity is a big problem all over the world. If research had revealed a compound that could burn fat so fast it would be big news. Everyone would be talking about it. Nobody is. Crickets! Silence! BS!
Aonori Slim: List of Ingredients
Two capsules per day provide an undisclosed quantity of aonori thallus powder. There are a couple of binders and fillers but not other active ingredients.
The capsule casing is gelatin, so Aonori Slim is not suitable for vegetarians.
Ingredient Ability and Blend Potential
Also known as green laver seaweed and sea cabbage, Aonori is an edible seaweed. It’s cultivated as food in China, Japan, and certain other Asian countries. Japanese cooks Aonori in various dishes including Takoyaki (octopus dumpling ball) and Okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake). It’s also the type of seaweed used for making sushi rolls.
Aonori is an excellent source of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. It’s also high in fiber so meals that contain a decent-sized helping of Aonori are likely to be good for filling the stomach. However, the appetite suppressing ability of aonori is unlikely to be transferred to diet pills. A pill is so small it would be incapable of providing a decent amount of fiber.
Like other types of seaweed, aonori is high in iodine. In theory, this gives it value as a weight loss aid.
The thyroid gland uses iodine to create the hormones T1, T2, T3, and T4 (thyroxine). Among other things, these four hormones have the job of regulating metabolism. (How Your Thyroid Works)
A lot of people don’t get enough iodine from their food. This can affect T-hormone production causing metabolism to slow down. When this happens it becomes very easy to gain weight and much harder to lose it. That’s why various types of seaweed are present in so many diet pill formulations.
However, although getting an iodine boost via aonori seaweed may benefit people who are iodine deficient, it won’t offer much value to anyone who normally gets enough iodine from their food.
Seaweed and seaweed extracts are associated with several other health benefits including lower cholesterol and improvements in gut health. Unfortunately, consuming too much seaweed can also present some risks.
When you get too much iodine, too often, it may cause thyroid dysfunction and actually contribute to weight gain.
As you may be aware, seaweed absorbs minerals and nutrients from seawater. It also has the potential to absorb heavy metals, such as lead and cadmium, that are capable of damaging the health.

Does Aonori Slim Have Honorable Customer Reviews?
I found several Aonori Slim reviews written in French. All of them were from 2017 and none of them were good.

As you can see from the comments above, as well as being advertised online, Aonori Slim also appears to have been marketed via French magazines. This may explain the product’s brief popularity in the past.

None of the customer reviews mention side effects. That’s good news but it’s still a good idea to seek medical advice before taking Aonori Slim. It provides an undisclosed quantity of seaweed extract that may be from a non organic source.

Aonori Slim Review: Diet Pill Ninja Conclusion
Aonori Slim is a supplement that’s sold on the back of promises of fantastic weight loss. Customer reviews show many people have already fallen for the claims and only succeeded in becoming fantastically disappointed.
When taken from organic sources, aonori and other types of edible seaweed can be an excellent addition to a healthy diet and, due to the fiber content, leaves of fresh or dried seaweed have the potential to curb people’s appetites and help them to eat less food.
However, due to the potential problems that may arise, it’s important to make sure you are not providing your body with more iodine than it needs. If you are unsure about your iodine intake and requirements, it’s a good idea to go to a doctor or dietitian and get some expert advice.
If you have read this review in its entirety, without any skipping, you will probably not be surprised to learn I am not impressed with Aonori Slim and do not recommend using it as a weight-loss aid.
